Zippy Lately (November 1 – November 7, 2010)

1. Halloween Costumes

Halloween for the geek crowd is not THE chance to dress up, but more like just one out of many in a year, especially if one frequents the con circuit. That doesn’t mean though people don’t put a little more pizzaz in their costumes, because as I witnessed this weekend everyone seemed to go all out for their costume/cosplay of choice. We at BBAMAJAM would love to see some pics of your costumes, geeky or not, so if you’ve posted them on Flickr, Facebook, etc. please add a comment to this post with a link to where we can check them out!

2. Good Charlotte x Miyavi

If you follow TokyoHive.com, a great site for J-Rock news, then you may have seen that Miyavi and Good Charlotte collaborated on a track for Good Charlotte’s new CD release. While the track seems to be a Japan only release, the internets have come through for us and provided us with the song. So if you want to hear this collaboration, east meets west, rock meets pop-punk, then just listen here!

3. The Walking Dead

Oct. 31st will be remembered not just as Halloween, but as Z-Day thanks to AMC and their riveting new show “The Walking Dead“. Based on the comic series of the same name, The Walking Dead is essentially a story about what happens when Atlanta becomes Zombieland. While you really just need to watch the pilot for yourself, for me I can already tell I’m going to enjoy this series. The Walking Dead treads between the emotional stresses of surviving zombies and the cooler let’s destroy them all mentality. Likely this is a reflection of the original comic, but if not it’s a great way to get non-zombie fans hooked. So for zombie fans certainly this is a must, assuming you somehow didn’t watch it already, and for those just curious I say give the pilot a go.
